Softball Recap: Garnet Valley Takes a Loss

Garnet Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Marple Newtown on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fightin' Tigers by a score of 10-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Arieanna Dawson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Audrie Criswell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

With the defeat, Garnet Valley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Marple Newtown, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Garnet Valley will head out to face off against Penncrest at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marple Newtown, they will face off against Upper Darby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Fightin' Tigers are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
