Baseball Recap: Webster County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Webster County's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Taylor County Cardinals on Friday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Webster County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micah Austin, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Austin hit this season.

Webster County's record now sits at 8-5. As for Taylor County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Webster County and Taylor County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 90th) will meet Hopkins County Central (ranked 209th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Taylor County will face off against Marion County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 155).
