Softball Preview: Galeton Tigers vs. Otto-Eldred Terrors
Galeton is 1-9 against Otto-Eldred since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Terrors at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Galeton took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Smethport, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the Hubbers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Hubbers since May 11, 2022.
Meanwhile, Otto-Eldred never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Cameron County as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Terrors have won three games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The win made it two in a row for Otto-Eldred and bumps their season record up to 5-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Galeton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Galeton might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Otto-Eldred in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
