Padua Franciscan hadn't done well against Walsh Jesuit recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Padua Franciscan Bruins put the hurt on the Walsh Jesuit Warriors with a sharp 72-51 victory. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kami Digennaro, who posted 18 points and three steals. Digennaro has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kara Esterak was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Padua Franciscan's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Walsh Jesuit, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Padua Franciscan will take on Keystone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keystone will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Padua Franciscan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walsh Jesuit, they will face off against Cuyahoga Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Walsh Jesuit is facing Cuyahoga Falls at the right time seeing as Cuyahoga Falls is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
