Preview: West Oso Bears vs. Rockport-Fulton Pirates
The West Oso Bears will be playing at home against the Rockport-Fulton Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in West Oso's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Rockport-Fulton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
West Oso can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past Sinton 50-18 at home. Given West Oso's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Sinton is ranked 1005th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Rockport-Fulton came up short against Sinton on Friday and fell 45-33.
Rockport-Fulton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Annika Guerrero, who scored nine points along with six rebounds, and Camryn Brown who scored two points.
West Oso has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Rockport-Fulton, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.
Everything came up roses for West Oso against Rockport-Fulton in their previous meeting on January 2nd as the team secured a 64-26 win. With West Oso ahead 40-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
