Baseball Game Preview: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. West Point Warriors

The Lawrence County Red Devils will take on the West Point Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lawrence County took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against West Point, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lawrence County had just enough and edged out West Point 5-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Parker Frost was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Frost was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Lawrence County got a great performance from Elijah Tuckier as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Tuckier also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lawrence County is 7-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryder Mcgregory, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Caden Norwood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lawrence County, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
