Volleyball Game Preview: Corona Panthers vs. Santiago Sharks

Corona hasn't had much luck against Santiago recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Corona Panthers will welcome the Santiago Sharks at 5:45 p.m.

Corona is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to King.

Corona was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Santiago posted their closest win since April 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Roosevelt 3-2. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Santiago got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 32-30, 18-25, 18-25, 25-13, 15-6.

Santiago's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Corona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Corona might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Santiago when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Corona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
