Baseball Recap: Cholla Sets Scoring Season-High Against Amphitheater

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cholla). Everything went their way against the Amphitheater Panthers on Tuesday as Cholla made off with a 21-1 win. While the Chargers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Carlos Alvarez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Ricardo Molina was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Cholla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amphitheater only posted an OBP of .200.

Cholla's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Amphitheater, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cholla will head out to face off against Sabino at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Amphitheater, they will square off against Cholla at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
