Softball Game Preview: St. Frederick Warriors vs. Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers

The St. Frederick Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Frederick's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against North DeSoto by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Not much got past Abigail Creighton, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep North DeSoto off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Megan Day, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Lily Davis was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Calvary Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Caldwell Parish with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Addison Willis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Calvary Baptist Academy got a massive performance out of Baylor Bockhaus, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs Bockhaus has posted since back in March of 2024. Carlie Guile also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Calvary Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .476 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

St. Frederick's record is now 2-0. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, their record is now 7-0.
