Baseball Recap: Glencliff Comes Up Short

Glencliff had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it seven. They lost 12-0 to the Whites Creek Cobras. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cobras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-0 on Wednesday.

As for Whites Creek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won seven matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.

For Whites Creek's part, Johnathan Scales was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Scales is becoming a predictor of the Cobras' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Dodson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

Glencliff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whites Creek, they will challenge Antioch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cobras' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
