Softball Recap: Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans vs. Kinkaid Falcons
Legacy School of Sport Sciences was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of the Kinkaid Falcons by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Legacy School of Sport Sciences of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.
Yazmine Johnson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (she also only allowed one walk). Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Orianna Hamlett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Cecilia Gonzales was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
On Kinkaid's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley Wainright, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
