It's playoff time, and Bluefield had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the James Monroe Mavericks by a score of 79-67 on Friday. The Beavers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, James Monroe saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kadyn Hines dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Hines also set a new season-high mark in steals with six. Bryce Gardin was another key player, shooting 58% from the field on his way to 17 points and five boards.

Bluefield moved to 3-20 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for James Monroe, they moved to 19-3 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Bluefield has already played their next contest, a 52-40 defeat against Wyoming East on the 12th. James Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
