Volleyball Recap: Fort Bend Marshall Starts off Right with Win over Carnegie Vanguard

Fort Bend Marshall gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Carnegie Vanguard Rhinos by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Buffalos, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The final score came out to 27-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-16.

Emariya Buie paced Fort Bend Marshall's offense, picking up 18 kills. Buie also shared the team's lead in assists with J'Ziah Rawlins: they picked up two each. Buie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Fort Bend Marshall will square off against Alief Elsik at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carnegie Vanguard, they will challenge Fort Bend Dulles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
