Basketball Recap: Maimonides M-Cats vs. Neighborhood House Charter Legends
The Maimonides M-Cats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Neighborhood House Charter. While losing is never fun, Maimonides can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Legends are ranked fifth).
When it comes to explaining why Maimonides lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leah Kaplan. Despite the final result, she scored 30 points. That was a full 51.7% of Maimonides' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Taieb, who scored 13 points.
Neighborhood House Charter was led to victory by Alicia Browder and Karin Richardson. Browder scored 18 points, while Richardson scored 24 points. Richardson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played.
Maimonides' loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Neighborhood House Charter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Maimonides does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Neighborhood House Charter won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
