Texas high school football: Statewide top 25 scoreboard

Southlake Carroll, Justin Northwest set to square off in battle of unbeatens.

This week's high school football schedule in Texas is highlighted by a battle of unbeaten teams in Class 6A District 4.

Southlake Carroll (Southlake), No. 7 in this week's state computer rankings, takes its 7-0 record to Northwest (Justin) – also unbeaten at 6-0.

Northwest's calling card this season has been defense as the Texans haven't allowed more than 17 points in a game. Offensively, senior running back Nathanial Jean has been the workhorse with 617 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

Unsurprisingly, Southlake Carroll is getting another big season from its guy under center, junior Angelo Renda. The 6-foot, 180-pound signal caller has thrown for 1,595 yards and 20 touchdowns while completing over 70 percent of his attempts.

While the weekend slate isn't loaded in terms of head-to-head top 25 matchups, there are several opportunities for massive upsets. No. 2 North Crowley (Fort Worth), No. 4 North Shore (Houston), No. 9 Summer Creek (Houston) and No. 11 Allen all play winless teams.
