Basketball Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Americas Trail Blazers, falling 58-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-14 back in November of 2024.

Americas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CHRISTIAN BACA, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five steals. BACA has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. MATT MAGDALENO was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Horizon's record is now 5-14. As for Americas, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Parkland the next time they take the court. Americas will host Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Horizon will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
