Softball Game Preview: New Dorp Central Cougars vs. Port Richmond Raiders

New Dorp hasn't had much luck against Port Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Central Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for New Dorp's offense. They lost 10-0 to Curtis on Friday. The Central Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Port Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Curtis, falling 18-4.

New Dorp's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

New Dorp suffered a grim 19-4 defeat to Port Richmond in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Central Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
