Basketball Recap: Parker Takes a Loss

Parker had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-6 to make it seven. They fell 65-54 to the Pleasant Grove Spartans. The Thundering Herd were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Parker still got an impressive performance from Kamichael Richardson, who made all 8 shots she took for 21 points and three steals.

As for Pleasant Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games.

Pleasant Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaire Harris, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 13 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Evans, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Coming up, Parker will be playing at home against Huffman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will square off against Hueytown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
