Baseball Game Preview: Chenango Valley Warriors vs. Oneonta Yellowjackets

Chenango Valley is 0-8 against Oneonta since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Chenango Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Chenango Valley turned things around against Seton Catholic Central on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Saints 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 17th.

The team relied heavily on Johnny Paske, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Trebilcock, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Chenango Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Oneonta came out on top against Susquehanna Valley on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Yellowjackets blew past the Sabers 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Nolan Stark was incredible, firing off two home runs, three stolen bases, and five RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Brady Carr was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Chenango Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Oneonta, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
