Softball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Oakland

Oakland waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Oakridge Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 back in April.

Maddie Dalberti made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Dalberti was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Morgan Swearingen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lexie Thacker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Oakland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Oakland pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oakridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

As of now, neither Oakland nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
