West Clermont takes loss despite strong efforts from Cameron Strause and Rayshawn Hubbard

Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Harrison Wildcats

The West Clermont Wolves fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Harrison Wildcats on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 52-48. West Clermont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, West Clermont had strong showings from Rayshawn Hubbard, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Cameron Strause, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Hubbard scored a full 37.5% of West Clermont's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daeveon Benett, who scored four points.

West Clermont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harrison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Rogers, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Rogers' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tucker Ward, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

West Clermont's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

West Clermont will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colerain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Colerain is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
