Baseball Game Preview: Pueblo County Hornets vs. The Classical Academy Titans

Pueblo County has gone a perfect 4-0 against The Classical Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Pueblo County will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Pueblo County beat Mesa Ridge 7-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for The Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Elizabeth 5-4.

Luke Cupples looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zach Mediavilla was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of The Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

The Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Pueblo County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.

Pueblo County came out on top in a nail-biter against The Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
