Basketball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

If Martinsville was riding high fresh off their 65-22 takedown of Kennard last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Martinsville Pirates were dealt a 76-27 defeat at the hands of the Broaddus Bulldogs on Tuesday. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Martinsville's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-9. As for Broaddus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Zavalla the next time they take the court. Broaddus will host Zavalla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Martinsville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
