The Amundsen Vikings will head out to face off against the Simeon Wolverines at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Amundsen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Amundsen came up short against De La Salle and fell 8-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Simeon lost 15-4 to Evergreen Park on Wednesday.

Antwan Jackson and Ben Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jackson went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Johnson scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That double marked the first that Jackson hit this season.

Amundsen's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Simeon, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Simeon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Amundsen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Simeon, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Amundsen keep running through batters, or will Simeon buck the trend?

Amundsen suffered a grim 20-10 defeat to Simeon in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Amundsen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
