Baseball Recap: Patton Starts off Right with Win over Freedom

Patton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Freedom Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Patton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landry Duvall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Wyatt Hullette was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patton will take on East Burke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they will square off against West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Freedom has now lost 18 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.
