Basketball Recap: Zack Denson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shaw over Kendrick

Shaw suffered their closest loss since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Kendrick Cherokees by a score of 70-67. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cherokees earlier this season, when they won 60-40.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zack Denson, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Denson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alenzo Talley, who earned 18 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Shaw and nudges their season record down to 9-15. As for Kendrick, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9.

Shaw has already played their next matchup (against Jordan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kendrick will head out on the road to face off against Hardaway at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kendrick is facing Hardaway at the right time seeing as Hardaway is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
