Basketball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Hagerty Huskies + How To Watch

The Lake Nona Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Hagerty Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lake Nona took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lake Buena Vista with a sharp 65-44 win.

Kymani Dixon and Brandon Rivera were among the main playmakers for Lake Nona as the former shot 44% from the field to rack up 18 points and six rebounds and the latter went 7-for-13 on his way to 17 points and six boards. Rivera continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Cary, who went 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and five boards.

Lake Nona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hagerty strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past West Orange 70-42. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Lake Nona better keep an eye on Asa Kohn. He was instrumental in Hagerty's win, shooting 65% from the field on his way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kohn has scored at least a third of the Huskies' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden McCrae, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points.

Lake Nona's record is now 2-3. As for Hagerty, their record now sits at 5-0.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lake Nona hasn't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 9.4 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Hagerty struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 8.8 turnovers. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Lake Nona strolled past Hagerty when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 73-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
