Softball Recap: East Forsyth Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

East Forsyth took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Davie, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the War Eagles 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 22nd.

Allie Cox spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Irelynn Price was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Aaliyah Long also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Price wasn't the only one making solid contact: East Forsyth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The Eagles are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

East Forsyth is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Davie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Forsyth will take on rival Mount Tabor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Davie is set to challenge their familiar foe Reagan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the War Eagles 3.7, the Raiders 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
