Northwest extends home winning streak to three

Recap: Northwest Knights vs. Goshen Warriors

Even though the Goshen Warriors scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, the Northwest Knights still came out on top. Northwest took their matchup against Goshen 72-64. The victory was all the more spectacular given Northwest's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Goshen is ranked 104th).

Goshen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caden Zeinner, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Zeinner has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Haley, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.

Northwest pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Goshen, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2.

Northwest will head out on the road to take on Talawanda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Talawanda is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Goshen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
