Basketball Game Preview: Morgan Raiders vs. Tri-Valley Scotties

Morgan hasn't had much luck against Tri-Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Morgan Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Tri-Valley Scotties at 7:30 p.m.

Morgan is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Sheridan on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Morgan came up short against Sheridan, falling 57-37. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.

Morgan's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brylee Shannon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Zach Porter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tri-Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 68-27 win over Philo. The Scotties have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Tri-Valley pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.3 points. As for Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Morgan was taken down by Tri-Valley 65-26 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Morgan was down 33-11.
