Basketball Recap: Labette County Takes a Loss

Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Pittsburg Dragons on the road by a 57-38 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 73-54 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Labette County lost, don't look at Kegan Bates. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and six boards. Bates is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Jett Steig also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pittsburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4-1.

Labette County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 88-65 defeat against Silver Lake on the 21st. Pittsburg has also already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against West on the 24th.
