Softball Recap: Clackamas Cavaliers vs. Central Catholic Rams

Clackamas extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 7-20. They came up short against the Central Catholic Rams, falling 18-12. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.

Addyson Atkins made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. McKinlee Johnson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games.

On Central Catholic's side, they got a great performance from Siri Coe as she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Olivia Springer was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Portland Razo, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clackamas will head out to challenge Reynolds at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on McMinnville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
