Baseball Game Preview: David Crockett Pioneers vs. Unicoi County Blue Devils

The David Crockett Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the Unicoi County Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. David Crockett has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 27.

Last Friday, David Crockett came up short against University School and fell 12-9. That's two games in a row now that the Pioneers have lost by exactly three runs.

Aj Ford was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Unicoi County earned a 4-1 win over Northeast on Saturday.

Guycen Jones looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

At the plate, Dustin Bogart was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Isaac Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Unicoi County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeast only managed two hits.

Unicoi County's record is now 5-1. As for David Crockett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went David Crockett's way against Unicoi County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as David Crockett made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for David Crockett since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
