Football Recap: Amherst Find Success

Amherst's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the St. Paul Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Easton Mallack threw for 104 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. On the ground, Graydn Fisher rushed for 38 yards.

St. Paul lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Meinecke, who rushed for 30 yards and one TD, and also threw for 177 yards on ten of 24 attempts. 98 of Meinecke's passing yards were hauled in by Zandyn Weller.

The victory got Amherst back to even at 2-2. As for St. Paul, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Amherst and St. Paul will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Broncos are set to square off against their familiar foe Kearney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Paul will take on rival Ord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
