Football Recap: Community School of Davidson Piles Up the Points Against Lincoln Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Community School of Davidson). They breezed past the Lincoln Charter Eagles to the tune of 49-7 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Ty Sigler was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Sam Mack, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Charter lost, don't look at Jeremiah Benton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 64 yards and one score on only eight carries.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Community School of Davidson, bringing their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points on average over those games. As for Lincoln Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Community School of Davidson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 29-28 defeat against Corvian Community on the 17th. As for Lincoln Charter, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pine Lake Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Eagles will be up against the Pride's rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.71 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
