Western came tearing into Saturday's game with ten straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tipton Blue Devils a 13-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Olivia Oyler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Jeffers, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

Western always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton only posted an OBP of .143.

Western's record is now 2-0. As for Tipton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Western beat the Blue Devils by a score of 10-0 later that day.
