Baseball Recap: Lamar Extends Winning Streak to Two

While Lamar's win against Grand Prairie wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings never let the Gophers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since March 6th.

The result came thanks to Luke Lazier's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Greco, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colton Quesada, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Lamar and bumps their season record up to 13-15-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Grand Prairie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.

As of now, neither Lamar nor Grand Prairie have any future games scheduled.
