The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers and the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 82-32 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Melbourne Central Catholic in their matchups with Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Melbourne Central Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Tristan Hamilton scored nine points along with two steals. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Grady Bonenberger, who scored five points.

Melbourne Central Catholic struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Melbourne Central Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
