Softball Game Preview: Weston Trojans vs. New Milford Green Wave

Weston is 0-9 against New Milford since May of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Trojans will host the Green Wave at 4:15 p.m. Weston has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weston is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Masuk, falling 14-0.

Meanwhile, New Milford entered their tilt with Bunnell on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-1.

Cienna McNamara was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

New Milford's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Weston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Weston has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like New Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
