Baseball Recap: Virginia Episcopal School Find Success

Virginia Episcopal School lost to Trinity Christian back in May of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Bishops walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Gryphons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bishops.

Campbell Howard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Lawrence Dempsey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Virginia Episcopal School's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jack Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Virginia Episcopal School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only posted an OBP of .259.

Virginia Episcopal School's record is now 6-4. As for Trinity Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Virginia Episcopal School will head out to take on Hargrave Military Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Grace Christian School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
