Football Recap: Prairie Comes Up Short at Home Against Idalia

Prairie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 65-14 defeat at the hands of the Idalia Wolves on Thursday. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 67-18 to the Wolves when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Idalia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolby Morris, who rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Those 72 rushing yards gave Morris a new career-high. Bode Monahan was in the mix too, providing Idalia with one TD.

Looking ahead, Prairie will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Arickaree at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Idalia, they will look to defend their home field on September 5 against Hanover at 7:00 p.m.
