Softball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Midlothian Heritage Jaguars

For the second straight game, University will face off against Midlothian Heritage. The Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

University heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Midlothian Heritage by a score of 10-9. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Midlothian Heritage's part, the team relied heavily on Taylor Bilderback, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. Bilderback has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Midlothian Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive games.

Midlothian Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1.
