Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata Spartans vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

For the second straight game, Immaculata will face off against Hunterdon Central. The Spartans will take on the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immaculata's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Hunterdon Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Immaculata barely beat Hunterdon Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Red Devils on Tuesday. The game marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season so far.

Ryan Auten tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Colin Kassai was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Lewis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Immaculata's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hunterdon Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
