Volleyball Recap: Fitch Takes a Loss

Fitch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodstock Academy Centaurs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Centaurs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Fitch took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 15-8.

Fitch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Woodstock Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fitch is set to face off against their familiar foe East Lyme at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Woodstock Academy will take on rival Norwich Free Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
