Baseball Game Preview: Greenup County Musketeers vs. Montini Catholic Broncos

The Greenup County Musketeers will face off against the Montini Catholic Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Greenup County turned things around against DeSales on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 7-3.

Hunter Holbrook made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Greenup County is 2-1 when Holbrook allows three or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Holbrook was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kasey Gammon was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Luke Boggs also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Montini Catholic can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They skirted past Great Crossing 6-5.

The win got Greenup County back to even at 5-5. As for Montini Catholic, their record is now 2-4.
