Baseball Game Preview: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. Olympian Eagles

The Campbell Hall Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Olympian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Campbell Hall's tournament run continued when they took on Bishop's on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Knights by a score of 8-6. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Olympian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Chula Vista on Tuesday.

Luke Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sebastian Diaz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Daniel Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Olympian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. As for Campbell Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
