Soccer Game Preview: Watertown vs. Marshall County

The Watertown Purple Tigers will face off against the Marshall County Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Watertown took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Jackson County 7-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Purple Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Marshall County put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Fayetteville a 6-0 shutout. Considering Marshall County has won four matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Marshall County pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three contests. As for Watertown, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
