Volleyball Recap: Western Hills' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Western Hills can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Carter-Riverside Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Eagles back in August, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Western Hills had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.

Western Hills' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Carter-Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Western Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carter-Riverside will take on rival Eastern Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
