Baseball Recap: Inspiration Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Central Pointe Christian Academy

Inspiration Academy extended their postseason success on Saturday against Central Pointe Christian Academy. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the CPCA. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the CPCA on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

Max Prejda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Max Bradely looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

Back at the plate, Ty Harvey was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Inspiration Academy: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Oakley Shirk, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Inspiration Academy and bumps their season record up to 18-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-23-1 record this season.

Inspiration Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-0 win against FSBE Academy on the 10th. Central Pointe Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
