Basketball Recap: Newcastle Takes a Loss

Newcastle lost against Douglas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newcastle Dogies were dealt an 81-45 loss at the hands of the Douglas Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Dogies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bearcats are ranked eighth).

Newcastle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Douglas, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Newcastle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-50 loss against Burns on the 7th. As for Douglas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-33 victory against Rawlins on the 7th.
